SaaStock 2018 Review – Our experience at the event that Turns Your SaaS up to Eleven

Oct 22nd – 4 min read

The biggest SaaS event in Europe, SaaStock 2018, has recently wrapped up in Dublin and the TalentHunter.AI team had a complete blast!

The conference, if you haven’t heard of it before, is THE global gathering of 3,000+ founders, executives and investors from the world of SaaS!

TalentHunter.AI were lucky to be included in the Startup Program as a Traction partner, where we had the amazing opportunity of showcasing our recently launched online hiring marketplace for sales talent to a LOT of startups, as well as some top VCs.

Our stand was a tad on the small side compared to the bigger startups attending, however we were right in front of the Burrito food truck so we definitely made the most of it! In fact the book by Jason M. Lemkin and Aaron Ross that we were giving away to companies who joined our platform ran out in the first few hours.

The feedback we received was incredibly positive and we came away with more than 10 new clients joining our platform, including one of the fastest growing UK companies, as well as a number of Israel, Germany and Ireland based startups. For any early stage startup that is considering attending SaaStock in 2019, we would highly recommend you make the investment and attend — it will pay for itself many times over.

Our Learnings

After speaking with more than 30+ Sales Leaders & Founders at the event it was clear that there has never been a more challenging time when it comes to hiring sales talent, be that SDRs, CSMs or Account Execs. In fact, around 65% of job ads on LinkedIn (from around 50 job ads we checked) for SDR roles have received zero applications, this figure gets even worse if you aren’t a well known company.

If you are a Sales Leader or in-house TA/Recruiter reading this post, now is the time to switch gears on how you source & hire the best sales talent. Relying on job ads to attract A-Players doesn’t work as good as it used to, the best sales talent wants you to apply to them in a personalised way.

If you are sending InMails to sales talent — what is your sent message to interview rate currently? If its below 50% (most are much lower) then there is now a faster way by sourcing sales talent using TalentHunter.AI.

Why so much faster? Well, it’s based entirely on data. Data that we as a hiring marketplace uniquely capture in terms of what candidates want next in their career, what they would like to earn, what roles they are interested in, and using this data our AI matches your jobs to our talent pool, whilst allowing our candidates to remain completely anonymous in the process.

Looking to Hire Top Sales Talent?

If you are a startup that is looking to hire new sales talent and aren’t happy with the status quo of job ads and InMails, or if you are spending 20% on external recruiters to help you, then we invite you to join us today at www.talenthunter.ai/for-companies where you will source 10x faster at 50% of the cost that agencies charge.

P.S. Our favourite keynote has got to be Nathan Latka’s “State of SaaS ARR data from 1000+ private B2B SaaS companies”. His insights and the data he shared (in rapid fire format!) from thousands of SaaS CEO interviews was incredible. We literally haven’t stopped listening to his “The Top Entrepreneurs” podcast show since we got back from Dublin!

P.P.S. Thanks to the entire SaaStock team for organising such a brilliant event. We will see you back in Dublin in 2019!
